Disaster Relief and Community Recovery.
In January 2026, Alexandra and surrounding districts were significantly impacted by the Longwood bushfire. Homes, farmland, livestock, and local infrastructure were affected, and many individuals and families are now navigating the long path from emergency response to recovery.
As a community-based organisation, Alexandra Events Corporation Ltd has stepped in to support locally led relief and recovery efforts. Drawing on our experience coordinating large-scale community initiatives, we are currently delivering and supporting a number of practical, on-the-ground programs to assist those impacted.
This page outlines the key initiatives currently underway and how to access support or contribute.

The bushfires have placed significant pressure on landholders, particularly those managing livestock.
Alexandra Events is coordinating emergency hay and livestock support for fire-affected properties across Alexandra and surrounding localities (Alexandra, Yarck, Gobur, Terip Terip, Molesworth, and more). This program aims to match donated hay with farmers who need it.

We worked with Alexandra Events for the staging of the Great Victorian Bike Ride. We couldn't have asked for a better crew to work with.
