We are providing the community with a mobile health van that will help deliver medical and mental health programs across the Shire.

This program is supported by Alexandra Events Corporation Ltd.

A major new health initiative has been launched for the Murrindindi Shire, with over $114,000 raised at our launch over the Alexandra Truck Ute and Rod Show weekend in June 2025 - this initiative seeks to fund a mobile health van that will bring essential medical and mental health services to the communities across Murrindindi that need it most.

"This started as a simple conversation with the Yea and District Memorial Hospital (YDMH) team about their Farmer Health Sales Yards program delivered monthly at the Yea Saleyards," said Caolan O'Connor, Chair of Alexandra Events. "YDMH were doing incredible outreach work, but stuck in the corner of the lunchroom.  When they said, 'Wouldn't it be great if we had a mobile clinic?' we realised it wasn't just a great idea, it was a necessary one."

This project is enthusiastically supported by healthcare providers across the Shire. As well as supporting mental health, the mobile clinic could help provide flu vaccinations, health screenings, serve as a base for school visits, aged care outreach, community health engagement programs, and much more.

"This initiative will allow our team to expand successful outreach programs like the Yea Saleyards health clinics, delivering care to residents in communities without ready access to GPs or allied health professionals. We are enormously grateful to the organising committee, to Andrew and Ayden Embling, and to everyone who has donated so generously," said Ian Marshman, Chair of Yea and District Memorial Hospital.

We received generous donations of over $114,000 in the first 24 hours!

After announcing this initative at the Alexandra Truck Ute and Rod Show Sponsors Dinner (Sat 8 June 2025), we received commitments of $51,355 to support the mobile health clinic. By the end of the Alexandra Truck Ute and Rod Show on Sunday afternoon, over $114,000 had been committed in total.

This will get us a long way, but there is still a long way to go.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much will the vehicle cost?

The more conversations we had, the more clear the scope of this vehicle became. What started as a van (think the size of an ambulance) quickly grew into a something more substantial... something that would provide space for two clinicians to work simultaneously, as well as an outdoor space.

The initial costings have also been adjusted up, as the vehicle grew.

The total cost of the vehicle is well north of $200,000, a project that has only become possible with the generous support of Jayco Australia who are heavily subsidising this project.

Who is raising the money?

This project is being led by Alexandra Events Corporation Ltd. We have committed to raising the funds, project managing the build, and providing this asset to the community.

How will my support be acknowledged? Will I be listed on the vehicle?

We are grateful for any and all support that helps bring this project to life, and we will seek to acknowledge all donors on the vehicle.

What does that look like? We're not sure yet. However, as we continue to scope the requirements of the vehicle we will better understand what opportunities we have to acknowledge donor support.

You can probably expect to find a list of all donors on the side and/or rear of the vehicle. But there may be other opportunities that unfold.

If you are a donor, we'll definitely be keeping you updated as the project evolves.

What are the bank details for any donations?

Alexandra Events have a dedicated fundraising bank account to create clear demarcation between any donations for this project and the other operational costs of running our various events.

The bank details for any donations can be found here.

Can you invoice me and send me a receipt for my donation?

Absolutely.

For invoices and receipts please view the instructions here.

Are donations a tax deduction?

Alexandra Events Corporation Ltd is not currently endorsed as a deductible gift recipient (DGR) via the ATO (though we are working through the process). Donations for this initiative are not currently deductible from donor's income tax.

However, we encourage you to talk to your accountant or tax professional for any advice around tax deductions.

Who will the vehicle be registered to?

This isn't yet fixed, but the current plan is for the vehicle to be registered to Alexandra Events Corporation Ltd.

From there we have some options of providing to the vehicle to local health providers on a roster or short lease arrangement.

I have more questions?

That's ok. So do we. 😉 This project is actively evolving.

However, if you have specific questions about the project that we can help answer, you can either:

A) Send an email to info@alexandraevents.com.au, and we'll aim to get back to you within two business days, or

B) Contact Andrew Embling, Project Lead, on 0418 266 038 or andrew.embling@emblingrural.com.au
